You Bake my Day!

Hi guys, I have a super fun card for you today I literally hadn't planned to make this one it was all a happy accident. If you have been reading my blog post you will know that I like to batch stamp and colour things up so the Hamsters and accessories were left over from a few recent cards and they were lying around on my desk on top of the striped paper and I just loved how they looked together.

So I gathered up my accessories and added them to the critters I wanted the stripes but I didn't want it to be too much so I got my cheese die and cut that out of some crisp white cardstock to stick in front of it.

I popped the white up with some foam tape though to give it some added dimension and added my hamsters complete with their new look. I love how the holes just frame the Hamsters and peek those stripes contrasted again that crisp white cheese panel.

I stamped my sentiment and cut using the sentiment strip from the Mini Frame and Banner Die set then coloured with a blue copic marker and popped it on the card. I then added it to my card base and my card was finished a real quick and easy card today!

Hi Guys I hope you have had a good week looks like you have all loved the new release things sold out so fast! I have had so much fun creating with it and I know you will too!

Today's card is another framed one I just really love this look at the minute in fact I've run out of white fun foam I've done that many cards using this technique recently. It's such a simple design but frames your image and makes it pop.

I started my card by cutting out the base with some 300gsm white card stock this just makes it really sturdy. I used one of the larger squares from the Quilted Square Nesting Dies and for the inner square die I used one of the smaller ones which fits the length of the washi tape perfectly. Once that's all cut I started on the washi tape background. I started out by stamping the middle one but I off set it to the top a little not so much but just enough to make the bees when we place them sit in the top third of the piece as its more pleasing to the eye than a central. I used a combination of Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxides for the ink I laid the colours all down at once on the stamp they blend easily so no worry about having harsh lines. Just be careful to lay your light colour first as the darker ones do tend to transfer onto your ink pad. You could probably do three stripes at once but I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing at this point so I started with one and worked from there.

Once the background was done I set it aside to dry for a while so I didn't smudge those lines and worked on my bees. These are another great stamp to use for quick and simple colouring. I also stamped and cut out two clouds for a little extra detail. Then making sure my ink was dry I could stamp my sentiment I actually used one from the older Bee set Bee Happy  it just fit the strip nicely and looked really cute. The bees were popped up with foam tape and I just tucked the clouds underneath.

Then all was left to do was make the card base and cut out the fun foam. I made the card base myself by cutting out two of the larger rectangles then on one I scored a line across the top around 1cm's down then added some double sided tape and stuck them together. This is a great technique for unusual shaped or sized cards which mine mostly are. It is very rare you will find me make a standard sized card. To cut the fun foam I cut out the larger square first then used the card frame we made before as a guideline to where I needed to place my centre die then cut that out. I attached my frame to the card base first as its easier to line up this way and then popped in my centre piece and that's my card all finished up for today.

New Release!

Hi Guys so the new release is finally here what do you think? I love the smaller stamp sets and the fact that they work so well together with older Time for Tea sets. The cute little mouse has to be my favourite he is an add on to the Baked with Love stamp set. After all you cant have a chef with a cute little oven to bake their goodies. The matching die set even enables you to add an interactive element letting you open the oven door.

This is the first card I made with the new release I combined the new Bake my Day with the Washi Stripes. The Washi Stripes are a fab edition to the collection as they are great for making your own backgrounds or a touch of decoration. Here I stamped them out to make some wallpaper in my kitchen scene. I found if I cut my square out first too using the Square Quilted Nesting Dies it was easier get my lines straighter. 

The mouse and accessories were super simple to colour as they are small so great for quick cards. I even added some of the accessories from the Baked with Love Stamp set.

I finished my card off with a chunky frame I'm really loving this look at the minute and it's really easy too do. I used one the larger square dies to cut out the outside and used the same size die to cut out the middle. Then did the same again with some fun foam you could just use foam tape but this makes sure our frame is super sturdy. Then I stuck them together and popped my image in the centre and stuck it to my card base.

Life is not a Fairytale!

Hi Guys I cant believe it Saturday already its been a busy week and it's flown by! This week I got to use one of my never before used stamps, don't you just love that feeling of using something in your stash and knocking it off the #nbus pile (never before used stuff). It's a fun challenge that I found on Instagram but also shows me I have far too many stamps or not enough colouring time. I think i'll go with the latter!

I just love the snarky sentiment on this Time for Tea stamp so I was excited to be able to finally colour it up and the Sparkle Cover plate fits perfectly with it.

I began by cutting the Sparkle Cover Die and the largest of the Hexagon Dies I coloured the sky on the Hexagon with Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxides and spritzed with water. I cut another Hexagon for the grass and cut it so it cover the bottom quarter then coloured it with my green Copic adding some flicks to represent blades of grass. To get the cut blades of grass at the top I Used the grass stamp from the Moovelous Stamp set and die cut that and stuck it along the top. The join I then covered with the Princess that I again coloured with Copics and I just had to use Cinderella Blue. 

The sentiment I heat embossed on some Black Cardstock I really like this technique as the white against the black really pops!

The blue back to the Sparkle Cover Die I coloured the same way as the sky just to add to the night time feel. I wanted my Sparkle Panel to be raised so an easy way to do this is to cut out the Sparkle Cover Die out of some white fun foam. It saves doing lots of cutting with foam tape and makes sure the whole of the back is sturdy. I just used Cosmic Shimmer Glue to attach them together. Then I popped it on my card base and added some stars to the sky using a white Gelly roll pen and small star sequin inside the Magic Wand and it was all finished up!

Hi Guys DT member Natalie here today and I'm sharing with you my cute mini gift box its great for making wedding favours, adding Easter eggs or just to pop a few sweets in. The Time for Tea paper pad is great for your base I used this gorgeous dotty teal paper alongside the pink stripes for the hearts.

I still had plenty of those bears left from my marathon colouring session to use. I've decided that this is my way forward by colouring lots of images at once so I can play around with layouts. It especially helps if you have lost your mojo. So that's what I did. I cut out my base and just played around with the layout. Top tip glue it together just at one side and lay it out flat so its easier to stick on your images and see it as a whole.

Once everything was stuck it was time to turn it into the box everything is scored when it goes through your die-cutting machine so its pretty easy to assemble. I used red tape to tape the edges so it was nice and strong and ran my bone folder over the score lines to make the folds more crisp. Its easier stick the bottom before the other side and you can use like the a pen lid to press it firmly down to make sure its completely stuck and then stick your other side. The top part you just gently press the middle bits in to close the top and I finished mine of with some twinkly twine. Hi Guys DT member Natalie here and I have another card to share with you all using that adorable Bearing Gifts stamp set. If you read my post last I mentioned that I had done a massive stamping, colouring and Die-Cutting session with these cuties. Once finished I laid them all out on my desk and just played around with layouts. I had placed these two bears together and thought they looked like they were having a leisurely stroll in the park and that's where I came up with my idea. 

To make my scene for my bears I used the Circle of Love Nesting Dies to cut my circle and used the

6x6 Scene It stencil to create the background. 

To get the sentiment to curve around the edge of the frame I added it to my stamping block then manipulated it so it was curved and held it over the circle to see whether I needed to move one side higher or lower until I had the shape I wanted and then stamped it on my card. Then I finished off by adding the bears and my topper was finished. 

For the base of the card I cut the new XOXO cover plate die out of  white cardstock and  made sure to keep some of the holes from inside the O. I cut another piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock the same size as the coverplate we cut and blended squeezed lemonade and spiced marmalade distress oxides on it then spritzed with water. This was then layered under the XOXO die cut piece and I popped the topper I made on the top and added it to my card base.

So the new release is here and isn't it just the cutest, the bears have definitely stolen my heart. I have made a really simple CAS card for the blog this week. It's great for if you want to knock out some quick cards to send to love ones and friends that you maybe missing at this time.

The white base of the card I cut out using the Hello Rectangle Stitched Nesting Dies and the hearts are cut from the heart die in the Box Die set. I just roughly guessed the spacing but you could measure the middle length and height to work out your centre points and work out your spacing that way. 

Once I had cut these out I needed to make the pink and orange background again I just roughly guessed the size by laying the die cut piece over the top of my Bristol Smooth cardstock and marking out so its that little bit wider.Once marked I then cut it on my guillotine to make sure the edges were straight. I used Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade for the blending and spritzed with some clean water. The sentiment I white heat embossed onto black card and cut with my trimmer again to make sure it was straight. 

The bears were really simply coloured I had batched stamped and coloured quite a lot of them when I got my stamps. I just used lots of brown and grey combos when colouring them up varying them slightly for each bear. I found it easier doing it this way as I got to play around with layouts and which bears I wanted to go together. This is also how I came up with a couple of my designs just laying them out on the desk. I then could die cut all my bears at once and there are still plenty left for my next card.

The card isn't a regular size so I had to create my own card base but first I needed to stick it together. I stuck the die cut panel to blended sheet using foam squares to give some depth then stuck down my sentiment and bears using foam tap where it was over the cut out hearts. Once this was done I could make my base like I did before I laid the card over the top of my white card I use 300 gsm so its nice and sturdy. Then I marked the white card so it was about 0.5 cm's wider then cut it using my guillotine I then cut another one exactly the same size. I popped my card front onto one of the pieces and the other I scored across the top about 1 cm down and folded it added some red tape above the score line and attached it to the back of my card. I use this technique a lot as none of my cards are ever standard size for card bases. Hi guys happy Saturday hope you are all having a lovely weekend! I have another tutorial today using the fab new 

unicorn stamp set Unicorn in Training.

I began by cutting out the A6 Hooray Panel Die and grabbing my Magical Snowflakes Stencil. The stencil is a lot wider than the card I cut out so I added some washi tape on the back of the card and stuck it to the stencil that way then taped the whole thing to my craft mat so it wouldn't move. I used a combination of Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides for the colour. Then to add the sparkle I went over the top with some Cosmic Shimmer Stellar Ice Lunar Paste using a Palette Knife. After I carefully peeled off the stencil I made sure to wash it straight away otherwise the paste will dry to the stencil and spoil it. I  set this to dry for a good 24 hrs just to be on the safe side.

Meanwhile I coloured and cut the rest of the elements the Hexagons are from the Bee Happy Stitched Nesting Dies I used the two larger dies in the set. I coloured up the rainbow and the jumping unicorn and cut them out and stamped my sentiment directly onto the smaller of the hexagon dies. Then attached the unicorn and rainbow onto the hexagon as well. I popped this on top of the larger hexagon using foam tape to give it some added dimension. I also cut a strip of velum to add some detail behind the hexagon but doesn't cover up those glitter snowflakes completely. I folded this around the glitter base and stuck it around the back so you cant see the tape. Then added the hexagon on top this helps to stick the velum too.

Using the A6 panel as a guide I cut out another rectangle slightly larger, then blended some Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide on top and spritzed it with some water. Then popped the A6 panel on top and stuck it to my base card. It was a pretty quick and simple card to make but looks so pretty especially with  the glitter!

Hi guys design team member Natalie here and I wanted to share with you how I stretched my Say Cheese cover plate die and turned it into a cute rabbit burrow. I've been wanting to create a card like this since I got my cute bunnies and then when I saw the cheese die I knew it would be a perfect fit!

I began as always by cutting out the cheese die then making a rectangle the same measurements to fit underneath. The bottom rectangle I blended with different shades of brown Distress Oxide ink and the cheese die cut with shades of green darkening up the colour around the edges. I wanted to add some grass so I stamped the one from the Moovelous stamp set. I used my clear stamping block so I could bend it around the holes so it looks like tufts of grass growing out of the top. I stuck them together using some foam tape so I could pop my worm and bunny underneath.

I stamped out the bunnies and coloured them up with warm grey oxides and added a little pink to their cheeks. I also stamped out the worm and quite a few carrots as I wasn't sure how many I needed.

Then I just started to lay everything out I stuck my two backgrounds together using some foam tape so I could pop my worm and bunny underneath.

I chopped one of the carrot in two to give the impression it was growing in the ground. Then just added a few scattered round 

The sentiment I heat embossed the sentiment on some black card using white embossing powder popped it on the top and then popped my card onto the card base and my card was done.
